Julia Candace Corliss, Ph.D. Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Education
Dr. Corliss has dedicated more than four decades to educating children

LOS ANGELES, CA, January 25, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Julia C. Corliss, Ph.D., Teacher, Author and Poet, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Dr. Corliss has 43 years of experience in education, 26 of which as a teacher for Mirman School, a private institution for gifted children. At Mirman she teaches reading, language arts, mathematics and social studies, and for the past nine years has taught graduate courses at Pepperdine University. She has a desire to help children grow and learn.

An alumnus of Claremont Graduate University, Dr. Corliss holds a Ph.D. in education. She is a member of The National League of American Pen Women, the National Art Education Association, Pi Lambda Theta and the International Reading Association. She has been awarded a Center of Excellence Award by the National Council of Teachers of English, and the Sarah D. Barder Fellowship from The Center for Talented Youth by Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Corliss hopes to continue teaching, writing poetry and painting. Her first exhibit was displayed at Judith Kaufman Gallery North Hollywood, California in February 2010 and at the Eclectic Cafe in the North Hollywood Arts District in California in 2010-2011. The highlight of her career as an educator was receiving a Ph.D. in 2008. Her creative life is ongoing as an artist and a poet, and an advocate for creativity.
