John LaBare is in charge of facilities and custodial services for a school system of 6,500 students

UNIONDALE, NY, September 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John A. LaBare, Director of Facilities and Operations for Uniondale Public Schools, has been selected as a VIP member by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in facilities management.

A former custodian, Mr. LaBare certainly knows his industry from the ground-up. Noted for his expertise in educational facilities management, he is in charge of the buildings and grounds division at Uniondale Public Schools. He marks his 17th year in this important capacity, which holds him responsible for overseeing facilities and custodial services for a school system serving 6,500 students. He is also tasked with overseeing constructional management in the district, which covers compliance with health and safety regulations and with guidelines set by the Environmental Protection Agency and others.

Prior to venturing into facilities management, Mr. LaBare worked in the hospitality industry and served in the U.S. Army for six years. He considers obtaining a certified director of facilities designation through the State of New York to be the proudest accomplishment of his career. He attributes his rise to his current position to his focus, positive attitude, and hard work.

Mr. LaBare is a certified high pressure steam boiler operator, certified oil heat technician, certified pool operator, and certified pesticide applicator. An honors graduate of American InterContinental University, he also holds an associate degree in business management. He is affiliated with the New York State Association for Superintendents of School Buildings and Grounds, Inc. and was recognized with a Nassau County Legislature citation as a graduate of The Nassau County Fire Police EMS Academy.
