Ginny L. Betow Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Educational Services
Ginny Betow is dedicated to improving learning opportunities for special-needs children
APPLETON, WI, August 25, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ginny L. Betow, Executive Director and Owner of Life Stages Institute, LLC, DBA Learning Links, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in educational services.
A 32-year veteran in education, Ms. Betow established Life Stages Institute after observing firsthand how easily special-needs children can fall through cracks in the system. She marks her eighth year at the helm of her agency, which provides workshops, tutoring and instructional development with a focus on children with learning disabilities. An expert in program design and development, Ms. Betow is in charge of three offices. Her responsibilities include coordinating with other agencies to set up programs for dyslexic and autistic children, writing curriculum, ensuring that staff undergo necessary and continuous training, working with K-12 students who have special educational needs, and collaborating with behavioral analysts to address the needs of the autistic population nationwide. In addition to managing her organization, Ms. Betow teaches advanced practicum for master's students at Lakeland College.
Prior to founding Life Stages Institute, Ms. Betow honed her teaching skills as an instructor at the preschool to college levels. She also worked for the U.S. Department of Education and in the field of college administration. Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who in 2010 as an Entrepreneur of the Year in Educational Services, she attributes her success to living by her Christian beliefs and her mother's values, and to understanding the importance of reading.
Ms. Betow earned a master's degree in counseling, with a concentration in family and community counseling, a master's degree in elementary and secondary education, and a master's degree in higher education, all from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Additionally, she holds a master's degree in higher education from Southeastern University, and licenses in emotional and behavioral disabilities in special education (K-12), learning disabilities in special education (K-12) and psychology for general education (7-12). Ms. Betow maintains affiliations with the Wisconsin Counseling Association and the American Counseling Association.
