OCEAN, NJ, July 18, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Shamina Dhillon, MD, Partner at Shore Gastroenterology Associates, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in general gastroenterology.

Thirteen years ago, Dr. Dhillon decided that her place was in the field of health care because she knew that she had the ability to interact with patients very closely and make a difference in their health. For the past five years, she has served as a partner at Shore Gastroenterology Associates, where she sees patients, performs colonoscopies and other procedures, and teaches medical students and residents. She also serves as the chief of gastroenterology at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Attributing her success to her hard work and compassion for patients, Dr. Dhillon earned an MD in 1998 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In 2006, she completed a fellowship and residency at the Mayo Clinic. Board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Dhillon is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology's National Committee for Women in Gastroenterology. Looking ahead, she intends to continue to grow her practice and be a leader in medical education.
