Amy E. Hammond Exhibits Excellence in Handicapped & Special Education
Amy Hammond has received a number of formal recognitions for her work with handicapped students
RUTHERFORD, NJ, July 25, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amy E. Hammond, Teacher of the Handicapped at Passaic County Elks Cerebral Palsy Treatment Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in handicapped and special education.
Ms. Hammond, a special educator, possesses more than two decades of professional experience in her field. Currently involved with Passaic County Elks Cerebral Palsy Treatment Center in New Jersey, Ms. Hammond utilizes her expertise in special education to create one-on-one programs based on students' needs. Specializing in mathematics instruction, she teaches individuals from 12 to 21 years of age who have been affected by multiple handicaps.
Ms. Hammond notes that she initially became involved in special education while she was in high school. She volunteered at a camp for children with special needs and recognized that she had a knack for the field. Ms. Hammond feels that hard work and dedication have been the driving forces behind her success. She looks forward to additional professional growth in her field and intends to become a counselor in the future.
A 2001 graduate of Montclair State University, Ms. Hammond holds a master of arts in counseling. She coached the Special Olympics from 2002 to 2007 and recently received a recognition award for 10 years of dedicated service to special education. In 2010, she was distinguished as an Elite American Educator and named a Professional of the Year in Handicapped and Special Education by Cambridge Who's Who. Ms. Hammond was also selected for inclusion in Cambridge Publishing's 2011 Calendar series and "Top 101 Industry Experts" book.
