The event was designed to give the students at College of Charleston that are interested in going to law school after they graduate practical advice from practicing attorneys.

The From Undergraduate To Lawyer event was sponsored by the College of Charleston's Pre-Law Program. Attorney Evan Guthrie is a graduate of the College of Charleston and enjoyed being able to speak to students that are in the position he was once in. Attorney Guthrie shared some of his experiences while he was in college with the students and how he prepared himself to get ready for law school. Mr. Guthrie gave tips about what the students could do to give them the best chance to move forward with a career in law. Attorney Guthrie also described what law school was like and how it was different from college and what classes the students could take to get them ready.

Mr. Guthrie also talked about taking the bar exam and his experiences as a practicing attorney. Attorney Guthrie answered questions that ranged from choosing a right law school to whether going to law school was worth it. Attorney Guthrie was on a three person panel with an admissions officer at a law school and another practicing attorney. Attorney Evan Guthrie liked returning to his former school and being able to give back and help students with his knowledge and experience.
