RIDGEFIELD, WA, November 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Shalini M. Jacob, Hospitalist for Oregon Health & Science University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.
Dr. Jacob is a medical professional who has a strong interest in quality improvement and maintaining a high standard of patient care to improve patient outcome. For the past four years, she has utilized her skills in the position of hospitalist for Oregon Health & Science University. Her role entails managing the care of adult patients admitted to the hospital and communicating with their physicians upon discharge. She also consults on surgical cases in preoperative and postoperative capacities and works closely with patients in the advanced heart failure unit. Dr. Jacob attributes her success to her hard work, integrity, empathy and passion.
Dr. Jacob is pursuing an MBA in health care. In 1976, she earned a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from Christian Medical College, Vellore. She went on to attain an MD in India and complete a residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Ms. Jacob is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine and American Society of Quality. Looking toward the future, she hopes to always maintain the highest quality of patient care, and would like to lead and partner with like-minded health care professionals focused on similar standards. She also hopes to stay adaptable to the constant changes in the health care field.
