Dade Medical College is donating $500,000.00 to the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation, the Hollywood, FL-based Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital's philanthropic arm.

MIAMI, FL, September 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dade Medical College is donating $500,000.00 to the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation, the Hollywood, FL-based Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital's philanthropic arm. College Vice Presidents of Community and Governmental Relations Elizabeth Martinez and Jorge Alvarez presented a check for $100,000.00 on Friday, September 23, 2011, the first of five installments to be provided on a yearly basis through 2015.

"This represents the most sizeable donation we have committed to making yet and are delighted that it will help the children of Broward and Palm Beach Counties for years to come," says Dade Medical College President & CEO Ernesto Perez. "The type of specialized care that the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital provides is essential to the well being of area youngsters."

Joining Martinez and Alvarez at the check presentation ceremony were Vice President and Executive Director, Memorial and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundations Kevin Janser, Chantal Leconte, Associate Administrator from the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and Zeff Ross, Senior Vice President and CEO, Memorial Regional Hospital.
