Bert Rodgers Schools Supports Salvation Army -- Through Donation for Tornado Victims in Joplin, MO
Bert Rodgers Schools made an on line donation of $250.00 to the Salvation Army for tornado victims in Joplin, Missouri.
SARASOTA, FL, June 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bert Rodgers Schools made an on line donation of $250.00 to the Salvation Army for tornado victims in Joplin, Missouri. The company has long supported the Salvation Army because the largest percentage of donations goes directly to the people who need the support. Eight thousand housing units were torn to shreds by the treacherous tornado that destroyed the city of Joplin in the month of May. The toll includes both homes and apartments, leaving a surplus of devastated citizens. It is noted that more than 6,000 households registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for assistance. Lori Rodgers explained, "Knowing these statistics, we feel a strong desire to help. Bert Rodgers Schools feels helping the Salvation Army is a good way to reach out to the families and individuals going through these unsure times. We can only hope for a quick recovery for all those in Missouri."
The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 and continues its Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) to meet material, emotional, and spiritual needs across the country. Millions of people receive help every year through food, shelter and warmth but the need remains great. To volunteer, make a donation or learn more visit salvationarmy.com.
