W. Edward Tyner Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Education
Dr. Tyner has 26 years of experience in education. He has worked at every level of the organization and has held leadership positions such as school administrator, coordinator of special education, and Chief, Education Division for DoD Schools in Europe.

Edward Tyner, Jr., who is currently the Chief, Professional Development for the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in his work as an educator.

Dr. Tyner has 26 years of experience in education with 21 years of that being with the Department of Defense Schools. He has worked at every level of the organization and has held leadership positions such as school administrator, coordinator of special education, and Chief, Education Division for DoD Schools in Europe. For the past three years, he has served as the Chief, Professional Development at DoDEA Headquarters. He is currently responsible for overseeing professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators, overseeing DoDEA's leadership recognition programs, and organizing workshops and conducting staff development opportunities for the various curriculum areas.

Dr. Tyner has won numerous awards throughout his career for his leadership skills and for community service. In addition to professionally-related training, he received his undergraduate degree from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee (BS in Psychology); his masters from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga (M.Ed. in Diagnostic/Perspective Education); and his doctorate in Educational Leadership (with collaterals in Curriculum/Instruction and Business Management) from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
