/Education News Articles/ - Crescent City, FL, June 28, 2008, Dr. Marcia Parker, Educator for Crescent City High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of secondary education.

Dr. Parker has more than 20 years of professional experience in education and 11 years of teaching experience with Crescent City High School. She is considered to be an expert in chemistry, biology, and physics instruction. Her daily responsibilities include utilizing instructional leadership skills and Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences in handling six periods of science classes, mostly in the Honors Program, overseeing the activities of the science department, particularly the local science fair project completion, supervising faculty of the science department and Grade 11 Team Leadership. She is also a member of the Chemistry 6-12 Item Specification Validation Team with Evaluation Systems group of Pearson and Florida Department of Education for the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations. She will likewise handle General Biology and Human Biology dual enrollment courses at Crescent City Jr./Sr. High School for St. John's River Community College of Palatka this coming school year 2008-2009. She attributes her success to her upbringing and work ethic, and to the continued support of her friends, family colleagues at Crescent City High School and the administrator of Putnam County School Board.

A Licensed Educator, Dr. Parker received the degrees of Doctor of Education in Instructional Leadership and Master's in Education major in Curriculum and Instruction from Argosy University, Sarasota Campus. She also completed 48 credits (dissertation pending) for her Ph.D. in biology as well as her Master of Science Major in Biology from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. Her degree of Bachelor of Science in Education, majors in Chemistry and Biology, minors in Mathematics and General Science, CUM LAUDE, was conferred by St. Scholastica's College of Manila from the Philippines. Dr. Parker is a comprehensive member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development since 2004. in addition, she is a recipient of the 2004-2005 Teacher of the Year Award from Crescent City Jr./Sr. High School, 2003 Technology Teacher of the Year Award and inducted into Who's Who Among American Teachers since 2001.
