She feels that planning and evaluating methods are important to improve a teacher's instructional proficiency and increase students' ability to learn, and that discipline plans and proper instruction methods are necessary to gain and maintain students' attention in the classroom. A passionate educator, Ms. Roberts shares that she always strives for improvement, and that practice is still the best teacher: "I am learning while teaching. I am able to reevaluate myself and improve my teaching methods."

Ms. Roberts earned her Master of Arts in Administration from Roosevelt University in 1997 and her Master of Arts in Special Education from Chicago State University in 1995. She is affiliated with Top Ladies of Distinction and serves as the Chairwoman of the Department of Special Education at Chicago Public Schools.
